29TH DECEMBER 2009

My footsteps make no sound as I tread along the wooden panelling of the place where I am to meet the rest of the assasins. I have been trained to move like this, silently, and swiftly, long enough to dispose of my target without them ever realising what hit them. There is a dagger hidden up my right sleeve, and a few throwing knives hidden under my cape just for good measure-you never know when danger might strike.

Even for such low creatures as assasins, I am regarded with high respect amongst the ranks, and I take pride in the fact that I have successfully completed mission upon mission with measured haste and precision. Now, I am invited to attend a meeting that will discuss one of the most important missions to date. The two guards who have led me along the corridors now stop at a sliding door that looks very similar to that of a classroom door. They slide open the door to reveal a large rectangular shaped room with tatami flooring and wooden walls with paper fitted in between them. There is some sort of a makeshift stage to the farthest left of the room, and to the right I see that I am not the only one that has been called here. There are many others like myself, though different in appearence. Some hide their faces with cloaks and masks, while others have intricate patterns on their clothing or tattoos lining their skin. It is easy to sift out the amateurs and rookies, as is the highly skilled and notorious like myself.

I sit down in the front of the room to avoid the commotion going on between a few people near the back, facing the crowd to make sure that I have time to avoid any sudden oncoming attacks. What was supposed to be a mere fist fight swung full force into a fight with drawn weapons. A large array of weapons was soon visible in the room, ranging from dual blades to long swords, and even a blow torch. I tried my best to avoid the fight, merely wiping away any blood that splattered onto my face, but the fight soon got too out of hand for any of the rookies to handle, and seeing as the other pros couldn't be bothered with stopping the riot, I decided to step in. I circled round to the back of the ruckus, and quickly stepped in between two people, drawing out the daggers from both sleeves and piercing them right into the their necks. The man standing opposite me cursed and lunged toward me. I returned this by sidestepping and twirling round to stand behind him, then thrust my right dagger into his back where his heart should be. It only took around six more people before the rest settled down, none daring to look back at me. I cleaned the blood off the daggers and slipped them back into my sleeves, ignoring the deformed bloodstains the tatami flooring now sported and heading back to where I was seated. I hated making too much of a mess, much less making people suffer painful deaths. As far as I could tell I had already been quite merciful to those few.
