7TH DECEMBER 2009

this is by far the longest/most random dream i have EVER had in many months...it didnt make me happy, but it didnt make me extremely sad either... not to mention the scene kept changing which was REALLY annoying. Well, shall we start? Try to keep up :[

--------------------------------------------------------

It all starts with a phonecall, an invitation from a friend, Joanna. She invites me over to her house just to hang out, and I accept the invitation since I have no else to do that day. I arrive at her house, but it's not the same one as the one she lives in the real world. Her house is located at near the beach, on a hill. It's a large house, the type that you see in movies, with tones of light grey and warm white mixed in with a darker black-grey color. The darker grey areas are definitely made of granite, for they feel firm and give off a slight sheen from the mini sliver stones embedded in them. Joanna's room is situated on the side that is closest to the beach, on the first floor. She also has a balcony that stretches the length of her room, which we all go to. The weather isn't particularly hot or cool. It is rather cloudy, with a faint breeze that keeps us from neither perspiring nor donning a jacket.

For some unexplainable reason, her computer is out on the deck, at the furthest right end of the balcony. It is a sleek looking unit, all white (including the table itself). What confuses me is the fact that I do not see any power units at the back, and considering that this is obviously a tropical location, rain should be a deterrant for placing a computer on a balcony. Upon reaching the balcony, I see a few other familiar faces, 2 to be exact. They are Genevieve, and Leigh, two other friends from school. Genevieve is wearing a turqiose-green top with brown shorts and slippers, while Leigh has a striped white, red and yellow polo tee on with dark grey bermudas. I do not remember what Joanna has on, but I do know that all their attire in general was rather casual and almost as if they were prepared to go to the beach rather than hang around in the house.

Joanna turns the computer screen around so that everyone can see it. On the page, there are pictures of different beaches, flowers, and rainforests. She starts a conversation, and we all participate in it with interest and excitement. What we really did talk about, I do not remember, but at some point she must have said something that drew my attention to the beach. Looking to my left on the balcony, I realise that this beach is a lot more impressive than I thought it was at first glance. It is a long, wide beach, with pristine white sand and a clear blue sea that makes soft, gentle waves that cannot even be described as "crashing" against the shore. Around the beach and all the way up to our house, there are lush, healthy palm trees and plants with big leaves that are such a wide array of green that I feel instantly invigorated by just the sight of it. This, I think to myself, is definitely not the siloso beach I know.

What then also brings me to notice, is the balcony itself. It has no barrier. No glass ledge, no metal ledge, no ledge of any kind. Just clear, openness, which would also mean that if I were not careful, I would most likely fall over the edge and into the "lush, healthy" greenery below. I start to discreetly back away from the edge.

The scene suddenly changes to that of the inside of Joanna's room. Her computer has also somehow managed to be shifted inside, but is still on a corner. For some strange reason, her room resembles that of mine in real life, and I am lying on the exact same bed as the one that I truly have. A few more people have appeared, but they are not real people, but rather characters from Japanese anime that I've watched before. The two girls sitting on the bed with me are Tsukasa and Kagami, twins from the anime "Lucky Star". The room is quite dark, with blackout curtains lining the windows and door to the balcony, and a mini chandelier hanging from the ceiling (like the one in another friend, Chelsey's house). I start talking to the twins about how I enjoy reading Japanese manga and other things, and slowly start to feel drowsy. Before I know it, I've fallen deep asleep on the bed, though I am still aware of what is going on in the room. I try very hard to stay awake, but it feels as though all energy has been drained from me and I can no longer even move.

The scene changes again. This time I'm in a shopping mall called Far East Plaza. Judging from the light streaming in from outside, it has to be late in the afternoon, but the entire complex is empty. All the shops are open, and there are people standing behind counters, but there is also no sound filling the place. I stand still, puzzled by the sight, and finally come to the conclusion that I must be dreaming after falling asleep on the bed. A shop to my left catches my attention, and I walk over to look at the things on display. Just then, a familiar friend calls out to me from behind.

"Mika!", says the voice. It's Sochii, a friend that I know from cosplay. Sochii asks me to help find an outfit that is needed for an anime called "Legga Guren" or something of that name, and a wig that is supposed to go along with it. I run over to another shop further down, and find a red number that looks fairly close to the description that Sochii gave. No sooner have I found it, Sochii appears, and in an instant is wearing the outfit (no surprise since it's a dream INSIDE a dream). The wig is then put on quickly, and styled, Sochii thanks me by giving a quick hug, and runs off. Just then, the shop that I'm still in starts to fade, literally. It becomes more and more translucent right in front of my eyes, until everything inside disappears and the place where it had been is just an empty block with not so much as floor tiles. The empty block is where Joanna's room should have been, but the furniture, computer and Joanna herself has also disappeared. The doors to the balcony have becoming automatic, like those in a shopping centre, and the darkness that was in the room is gone. A chilly breeze brushes past me, and I hug my arms tight around my body for warmth. It's only then that I realise something else has disappeared... my clothes.

I REALLY hate this. It's one of those horrible dreams where you probably have to scamper around looking for your clothes, and then be ridiculed by a group of people who suddenly appear. At this point I can't even tell if I'm dreaming that I'm in a dream anymore, but that is of no concern at the moment. My first priority is to look for something to wear. I quickly step out of the shop space, which instantly turns into a sushi restaurant. I see a sushi chef slowly starting to form at the counter like a mirage, and I dash to the next shop which thankfully has curtains to shield myself. I peer around the corner of the restaurant, and notice a few more friends whom I recognise. One notable person is Sara, who is dressed as Alto from the anime "Macross Frontier". He is walking next to a person who is dressed as Michael from the same anime, and they both walk across to the restaurant opposite from where I'm hiding. I'm able to pick out a few words from their conversation with a few other girls in the restaurant, and to my horror realise that they are coming this way to change out of their outfits. I quickly turn and scamper, past the sushi chef who is still taking a ridiculously long time to fully form, and hide behind the curtains at the far end where Joanna's balcony door would have been.

Luck must be on my side, for on the floor I see a pair of black shorts, and a pink towel. Of course, it does not take a genius to figure out what to do with those two articles of clothing. I slip on the shorts first, which take larger priority, and just as I wrap the towel around my shoulders, the Michael cosplayer appears, the rest of the group in his stead. Before they can start changing or doing anything, I turn away from them, looking for a place to escape to. It is only then that I notice that there is a tiny, almost unrecognizable door to the left of the sushi place. This is because it is painted the exact same colour as the white walls, and is hidden behind a big blue banner set up by the sushi place. I walk over to the door, turn the handle, and enter the room.

The room looks exactly like my bedroom, the only difference being that the floor is covered with tatami, and the walls are bare. I dig around for a shirt in the lower closet resting near the opposite wall, and settle for a light orange shirt with a floral applique in the middle. This room is quiet, peaceful, a large difference from all the activity that I've gone through so far. I could have chosen to stay in that room until I woke up, but considering that this is a dream, my body moves itself back toward ther room door, and I exit the room. What awaits me is a shocking spectacle.

Black puppies, everywhere. Sleeping in front of me, sleeping near the sushi shop, running around the shop walkways. They are all clearly poodles, and all scarily resemble my own poodle. I count at least 12 lying around in front of me, and about 6 running around in the walkway. My parents appear then, and explain to me in an unnervingly relaxed tone that they all belong to us. I feel a headache coming on at this statement. I turn to my right, and realise that one puppy is busy chewing and ripping apart a piece of white cloth in its mouth. Not wanting the puppy to get entangled in the cloth, I take the cloth away from it, and unfold it to see what it was. Exasperation creeps up on me, it is my shirt, a new one that I have just brought back from Malaysia. I had been planning to wear it but could not find it earlier, this obviously being the reason. I throw the shirt back to the floor, and turn around to head back into my room. When I turn the doorknob, however, the door opens to a dojo, where three men wearing taekwondo outifts are standing.

All three men have black belts as far as I can see, and not wanting to cause any trouble I simply try to close the door. However, one of the men folds his hand around the doorknob on the other side, and holds it open for me to enter. I look around uneasily, before entering and stating that I simply want to find my room. Another man, suddenly steps forward, and leads me to a different door on the same side as the one I had entered. He opens it to show a large empty space with grey granite floor tiling, and an escalator that goes up to a place which I cannot see. Suddenly from behind runs two small children, a boy and a girl. Though I have no affinity to them, I feel a need to stop them and prevent them from going up the escalator. I'm slightly late, however, for the boy is already halfway up the escalator, while the girl is staring interestedly at it. The man whispers to me in a soft, firm voice.

"Now, remember. When you see her, do not look directly into her eye. She does not like cowards, so show that you have some spirit in you, but do not exhibit defiance..."

I have no idea what he is trying to tell me, but from his tone of voice and words, I figure that I am about to meet someone important, and old. However, I eventually do not require the formalities or hassle of looking after the two unknown children, for no sooner have I taken one step into the grey space, the scene suddenly changes again.

We are on a lifeboat. The kind where 4 people fit on one side, and 2 fit onto the other side with their backs facing the direction that the boat moves in. I am unfortunately on that side, and I see the two young children with a rather old yet eccentric looking lady facing me. That's not all I can see. All around us is lava, hot and pulsing, and molten rock on each side. It looks as though we are in a tunnel, and the lava is moving downstream like a water based roller coaster or Splash Mountain in Disneyland. There is no time to scream or even react, for almost as quick as the scene had changed, the boat tilts downwards at a 90 degree angle, and plummets at an alarmingly fast rate. I dare not turn around to see exactly where we are heading, but as the heat increases, I get the feeling that we are about to fall into a deep, sulphuric pool of lava to be roasted alive.

I am completely wrong. When the 90 degree angle of the boat seems to become 97 degrees, the boat is suddenly thrust into light, and cool air envelopes my senses. Behind me I can see the large hold that we have just come out of, and to my surprise it is a snow covered mountain. The lava changes to water, and the boat is falling quickly for the large pool of water at the mountain base. Just then, a large bear that seems too big to be real bursts out from the hole, making the hole even bigger. It is a terrifying sight to behold- as long as two buses and as tall as three floors in a shopping complex. It makes a deafening sound, and stretches out its large paws with sharp claws ready to crush us. Just as it gets so close that we can feel its breath, it falls short, and hits the icy surface at the base of the mountain, cracking it and falling into its freezing cold depths. At the same moment, our boat splashes into the water, and floats rockily on the surface. The two children are laughing, as is the old lady. As for me and the taekwondo man, we decide to remain quiet about what we saw.

I turn around to see a lush green field and clear blue sky. There are many people, all dressed in beach wear who are cheering for some strange reason. Despite the unexplainable events that had followed, I felt like I had just been through a fun adventure that could never be repeated even if I tried.
